Shards of Light

Shards of light
Broken, disarrayed
Colourful, dismayed
Lonely, because they stayed

Aeons of wisdom
In the glimmering bowl of mankind
Years of havoc
As the civilizations declined

9 to 5, politics, office
The old, modern, staid, archaic
A smiling countenance lost in nowhere
Assassins of the dark who sit and glare

Teenage angst lost to gentleness
Corridors that alight are dark no less

Sudden storms with violent winds
Supernovas exploding, white dwarfs gulped down
A universe of destruction, havoc
And then silence

The eerie silence just before explosion
The calm within, as comes implosion

A moment less,
A moment more
A smile, and chaos as before
A lonely shadow, a deep white light

And flying by
Shards of light
Broken, disarrayed
Colourful, dismayed
