As our day fades into oblivion,
as we shake the silent tears out of our eyes
we feel the world's all evil, all black
darkness engulfs our identity
we relapse into dark silence.
and as the first rays of light playfully creep through the leaves
as the morning dew settles on the long eyelashes of the green boughs,
we smile, content, happy with the fair morn, and absence of darkness
our life doesn't seem a dreary mess.
But as the day wears on,
the shining white to the deadly dark
All is not painfully stark
it fuses, conceals itself in the shades of Grey.
and we kneel to pray
For deliverance, to be freed of sins not committed
Have hope
The shades of Grey, vast, unassuming
silent, loving, consuming.
it echoes us
The good and the bad no longer exist
It's one blissful reality
Lighter shades of my life,
Darker shades of my own.
How cold has this world grown.
Goodbye, silent dread
In shades of Grey
Scrounging a piece of bread.
Goodbye shining light
Protecting sometimes from death dealing fright.
Fare thee well, friends
Farewell ....

"All the world's a stage", some well known personality once said. Similarly all our life is one long day with its high noon, grey dawn/dusk and dark night! Great metaphorism and symbolism... I like the end a lot and you of all people can imagine why!
very sensitive poetry.holds promise. keep it up
