Beautiful classical music

Music so deep and pure
It engulfs your identity

You sit, transfixed
As the haunting melody
Takes you into realms unknown
Where the seeds of mankind
Where once sown

The deep thrumming vibrations of sitar
The jiggling waltzes of Strauss
As I read of Coulomb’s law
And the theorem of Gauss

The incarnate infinity
Mozart’s musical divinity
Chinese stirring strings
Lutes and flutes
Sweet trills and rings

The plucked chords of Chopin
The emotions struck by Beethoven
The power of sitar, sarod
The power of song, of ode

O classical infinite
Emotion eternal
Sweet secrets shown to me
How I’d love to see
These magicians in front of me
Weaving spells of ecstasy

A finely executed bit of intense poetry. The poem (or rather, the poet) makes us appreciate the innate beauty of classical music, something which is rapidly disappearing in today's commercial and ruthless world, where hardly anyone seems to have the time to preserve their cultural identity.

PS - I liked the Science vs. Sitar stanza a lot!
