The Silent Ones

They smile; they grin
Wide laughs, wild laughs
Arcane powers of innocent eyes
Deranged genius, my child
Deranged – totally, utterly wild

Hauntingly he gazes
And abruptly laughs his short bark
Is that allowed?
Ah yes ……… next patient, please

This one’s all ears
Large brown tufts of curly hair
The bald ones enviously glance
Till they see his shining pate

Abstract, surreal he tries to be
The sudden crackle of Chhaunka of Ghee
The soft effusing essence
The parched earth – a droplet of rain

Suddenly, the dam breaks
Breaks minds, broken minds
Subtlety it finds
Silence

The sound of art
Monologues, Dialogues, Dionysian riotous orgies
All enveloped in silence
Dissonance
All Dissolve

Please explain:
Chhaunka (3rd Last Para)
dam beaks (2nd last Para)

A nice exploration of the psyche or at least that's what my interpretation of it is. This one feels like AC voltage. One moment there's no control over the heights of panic/emotion and the other there's subtlety and silence. Up, Down, Up, Down. :)

One question: Why is it that you tend to mention greek mythologies in your poems?

u hear the sound of ghee crackling... n feel its essence. its surreal if your mind's open enough

the dam refers to the actual dam (remember Kosi), also to threshold of pain/emotions, the limits we set to our psyche - our 'dam'd dam.

I feel many parallels b/w greek cultures n our own, and greek mytho is imbibed as an essence of my poetry

Okay. But what does the word Chhaunka mean? Is it "dam beaks" or "dam breaks"?

Rumour has it that our sages did visit Greece long ago and vice-versa.
